I am pleased to announce the appointment of Michael D. Sedgwick to the position of Vice President and General Manager of Sypris Electronics, LLC, effective June 3, 2024.  Mike will be located at Sypris Electronics in Tampa, Florida and will report directly to me.

Prior to his current assignment with SCI Technology, Inc., Mike served in a number of increasingly responsible senior-level positions with I3, Abaco Systems Inc. and AAR Corporation. He began his career with SCI Technology, Inc. in 2007 as its Senior Program Manager for the Defense and Aerospace Division, and as Director of Aircraft Systems from 2010 to 2014.

From 2005 to 2007, Mike served in the U.S. Army as a Battalion Intelligence Officer (S-2) for the 10Th Special Forces Group (Airborne) operating in Iraq. From 2001-2005, he served as an Infantry Officer for the 82nd Airborne Division in Afghanistan and Iraq, where he conducted over 100 combat patrols. Since 2007, he has continued to serve as a member of the U.S. Army Reserve.

Mike holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Manufacturing Engineering from Brigham Young University and an MBA from the University of Phoenix. His breadth of experience includes leading business segments serving the U.S. Department of Defense, prime government contractors, and the commercial aerospace market with responsibility over IR&D, Business Development, Sales and Marketing, and Project and Program Management.

It is with great pleasure that we welcome Mike and his family to the Sypris team. His wife, Vivien, along with their three daughters, Mia, Valarie and Sophie, look forward to joining him in Tampa in the coming weeks.

I would also like to thank Curtis Petrie, along with Steve Straub and Marc Olshansky, for their months of service and commitment working together to assist our teammates in Tampa as they continue the development of Sypris Electronics into a larger, increasingly profitable company.  Additionally, we sincerely appreciate Curtis’ readiness to assume the role of acting Vice President and General Manager since February and the Sypris Electronics team for embracing Curtis as their interim leader. Congratulations to all for their significant accomplishments that were achieved during this transitional period, which have positioned the Company for future opportunity and success.

Regards,

Jeff Gill
